THIS IS PART OF A SCHEDULED TSUNAMI PREPAREDNESS EXERCISE. THERE IS NO ACTUAL TSUNAMI THREAT. This is a Tsunami Warning Bulletin to inform the public and disaster emergency management authorities that, based on current data, widespread hazardous tsunami waves are [occurring, imminent or expected] for Antigua and Barbuda following the recent seismic activity.

Hazardous tsunami waves from this earthquake are imminent within the next three hours along some coasts of Antigua and Barbuda.

Estimated Time of Arrival:
The estimated time of arrival of the initial tsunami wave is 1:45 AST (17:45 UTC) March 20, 2025 for Antigua and Barbuda. Actual arrival times may differ, and the initial wave may not be the largest. A tsunami is a series of waves and the time between waves can be five minutes to one hour.

Recommended Actions:
Persons located in threatened coastal areas, near the beach or low-lying regions, should immediately move to high ground or inland and away from all harbours and inlets, including those sheltered directly from the sea.
Those feeling the earth shake, seeing unusual wave action or the water level rising or receding may have only a few minutes before the arrival of the tsunami and should evacuate immediately.
Homes and small buildings are not designed to withstand tsunami impacts. Do not stay in these structures.
Mariners in water deeper than 183 metres (600 feet) should not be affected by a tsunami.
Until the all-clear is given, by local and national authorities, do not return to evacuated areas.
Stay alert for information and be prepared to act and follow further instructions from national and local authorities. [This tsunami warning is based solely on earthquake information—the tsunami has not yet been confirmed.]
